Risk Warning on Trading HK Stocks

Despite Hong Kong's robust legal and regulatory framework, its stock market still faces unique risks and challenges, such as currency fluctuations due to the Hong Kong dollar's peg to the US dollar and the impact of mainland China's policy changes and economic conditions on Hong Kong stocks.

HK Stock Trading Fees and Taxation

Trading costs in the Hong Kong stock market include transaction fees, stamp duty, settlement charges, and currency conversion fees for foreign investors. Additionally, taxes may apply based on local regulations.

HK Non-Essential Consumer Goods Industry

The Hong Kong stock market encompasses non-essential consumption sectors like automotive, education, tourism, catering, and apparel. Of the 643 listed companies, 35% are mainland Chinese, making up 65% of the total market capitalization. Thus, it's heavily influenced by the Chinese economy.

HK Real Estate Industry

In recent years, the real estate and construction sector's share in the Hong Kong stock index has notably decreased. Nevertheless, as of 2022, it retains around 10% market share, covering real estate development, construction engineering, investment, and property management.

EUR/USD Holds 1.1197 Support: Can an Oversold Euro Stage an M15 Rebound?

      Forex
      Summary:

EUR/USD is hovering around 1.1200 after another sharp decline, with 1.1197 sitting almost exactly at the current pivot/support cluster; the pair remains under pressure from French fiscal concerns and a firm US dollar....

      Overview

EUR/USD remains in a pronounced bearish trend, with the pair recently falling to 1.1160, its lowest level since May 2025. The latest decline is unusual because the US dollar is not being driven solely by expectations of another immediate Fed hike. Instead, euro-specific risk has become a major driver. French fiscal instability has pushed French-German bond spreads to their widest level since 2011, while concerns about the ECB's ability to ease monetary conditions have increased.
At the same time, the dollar retains a strong yield advantage. The latest FOMC minutes reinforced concerns about inflation and showed that most policymakers still considered further tightening appropriate, while the US 10-year Treasury yield has risen above 5.30%. The dollar index remains close to an 18-month high.
However, 1.1197 is technically interesting because it is almost precisely around today's pivot. Current calculations place the classic pivot at 1.1198, S1 at 1.1188 and S2 at 1.1182. The pair has also traded as low as 1.1195 today, meaning buyers are already defending the proposed entry.

      Market Sentiment

The dominant sentiment remains bearish, but the market is becoming increasingly stretched. Current technical data classifies EUR/USD as Strong Sell, with all major moving averages from MA5 through MA200 producing sell signals. RSI is around 40 on the intraday technical dashboard, while Williams %R and Stochastic RSI are already in oversold territory.
The contrarian argument for buying 1.1197 is therefore based on exhaustion rather than fundamentals. Sucden Financial estimates daily RSI around 21 and highlights 1.1165–1.1185 as a tested support zone, while speculative euro shorts have expanded substantially. A small positive catalyst, such as softer US data or a reduction in French fiscal concerns, could therefore trigger short covering.
The critical issue is that oversold conditions do not automatically produce a reversal. EUR/USD remains below major trend averages, and current market analysis identifies 1.1276 as the first significant resistance. The BUY should therefore target the initial rebound rather than assume a large trend change.

      Technical Analysis

EUR/USD Holds 1.1197 Support: Can an Oversold Euro Stage an M15 Rebound?_1
Using Bollinger Bands (20,0,2), Ichimoku (9,26,52) and Stochastic (5,3,3) on M15, 1.1197 is positioned directly around the current pivot and close to the lower support cluster. The preferred scenario is an M15 rejection below 1.1200 followed by a reclaim of the Bollinger middle band. A sustained move back above 1.1215 would provide the first evidence that sellers are losing short-term control.
With Ichimoku (9,26,52), the structure remains bearish because price is below the Kijun and cloud. Therefore, the BUY needs a higher low around 1.1185–1.1197 followed by a Kijun reclaim. Until that happens, this remains a counter-trend scalp.
For Stochastic (5,3,3), a bullish crossover from the oversold region would be the preferred M15 trigger. The first resistance is around 1.1215–1.1220, followed by 1.1240 and then 1.1260–1.1276. A decisive M15 close below 1.1170 would invalidate the rebound structure and expose 1.1145.

      Trade Recommendation

      Entry: 1.1197
      Take Profit: 1.1240
      Stop Loss: 1.1170
