Risk Warning on Trading HK Stocks

Despite Hong Kong's robust legal and regulatory framework, its stock market still faces unique risks and challenges, such as currency fluctuations due to the Hong Kong dollar's peg to the US dollar and the impact of mainland China's policy changes and economic conditions on Hong Kong stocks.

HK Stock Trading Fees and Taxation

Trading costs in the Hong Kong stock market include transaction fees, stamp duty, settlement charges, and currency conversion fees for foreign investors. Additionally, taxes may apply based on local regulations.

HK Non-Essential Consumer Goods Industry

The Hong Kong stock market encompasses non-essential consumption sectors like automotive, education, tourism, catering, and apparel. Of the 643 listed companies, 35% are mainland Chinese, making up 65% of the total market capitalization. Thus, it's heavily influenced by the Chinese economy.

HK Real Estate Industry

In recent years, the real estate and construction sector's share in the Hong Kong stock index has notably decreased. Nevertheless, as of 2022, it retains around 10% market share, covering real estate development, construction engineering, investment, and property management.

Gold Holds Above $4,050: Is This the Ideal Buy Zone Before the Next Breakout?

      Commodity
      Summary:

XAU/USD is trading around $4,075–4,090 after recovering from the post-Fed pullback. Although a modest rebound in the U.S. dollar has capped gains, bargain hunting around the $4,000 psychological support and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty continue to underpin gold prices. ....

      Market Overview

Gold remains resilient despite increased expectations that the Federal Reserve could keep monetary policy restrictive for longer. Following this week's FOMC meeting, investors continue to reassess the outlook for September, with market pricing shifting toward a higher probability of another rate hike. Normally, this environment would pressure non-yielding assets such as gold. However, persistent geopolitical risks and strong physical demand have prevented a deeper correction. Spot gold remains on track to record its first monthly gain in five months, highlighting the resilience of underlying demand despite macro headwinds.
Another important driver is continued buying around the $4,000 area. Each decline toward this level has attracted fresh institutional and physical demand, suggesting long-term investors still view current prices as attractive. While the stronger U.S. dollar has triggered some profit-taking, the broader market structure continues to favor buying on pullbacks rather than aggressive selling.

      Market Sentiment

Market sentiment is cautiously bullish. Institutional traders have become more selective following the Fed meeting, but they continue accumulating during corrections instead of reducing long exposure. Higher Treasury yields remain a headwind, yet geopolitical uncertainty surrounding the Middle East continues to support safe-haven demand.
Short-term traders are largely waiting for U.S. inflation data to determine whether the Fed's hawkish stance will strengthen further. Until then, sentiment favors range trading with a mild bullish bias as long as gold remains above the major support zone.

      Technical Analysis

Gold Holds Above $4,050: Is This the Ideal Buy Zone Before the Next Breakout?_1
On the M15 timeframe, Bollinger Bands (20,0,2) are beginning to narrow after the recent recovery, indicating volatility compression before the next directional move. Price is holding above the middle band while consistently finding buying interest near $4,050, suggesting this level has become reliable intraday support.
The Ichimoku Kinko Hyo (9,26,52) shows price remaining above the Kumo. The Tenkan-sen continues to trade above the Kijun-sen, while the forward cloud maintains a positive slope, confirming that the short-term trend remains bullish despite recent consolidation. Dynamic support continues to rise toward the entry zone.
The Stochastic (5,3,3) has recovered from oversold territory and is turning higher without entering overbought conditions, indicating room for another upward leg. Immediate resistance is located at $4,125, followed by $4,170, while strong support remains at $4,020. As long as price remains above $4,020, the M15 structure favors continuation toward the upper Bollinger Band.
