Risk Warning on Trading HK Stocks

Despite Hong Kong's robust legal and regulatory framework, its stock market still faces unique risks and challenges, such as currency fluctuations due to the Hong Kong dollar's peg to the US dollar and the impact of mainland China's policy changes and economic conditions on Hong Kong stocks.

HK Stock Trading Fees and Taxation

Trading costs in the Hong Kong stock market include transaction fees, stamp duty, settlement charges, and currency conversion fees for foreign investors. Additionally, taxes may apply based on local regulations.

HK Non-Essential Consumer Goods Industry

The Hong Kong stock market encompasses non-essential consumption sectors like automotive, education, tourism, catering, and apparel. Of the 643 listed companies, 35% are mainland Chinese, making up 65% of the total market capitalization. Thus, it's heavily influenced by the Chinese economy.

HK Real Estate Industry

In recent years, the real estate and construction sector's share in the Hong Kong stock index has notably decreased. Nevertheless, as of 2022, it retains around 10% market share, covering real estate development, construction engineering, investment, and property management.

USD/CHF Climbs as Geopolitical Risks Boost US Dollar Demand

      Traders' Opinions
      Summary:

USD/CHF rebounds toward 0.8325 as renewed Middle East tensions and uncertainty surrounding the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire support the US Dollar. Rising oil prices add pressure on the Swiss Franc, keeping 0.8345 in focus.

The US Dollar regained momentum against the Swiss Franc on Monday, with USD/CHF recovering toward 0.8325 after finding support near 0.8290. The rebound interrupted the pair's two-day decline as renewed geopolitical uncertainty encouraged investors to seek safety in the Greenback.
Trading conditions remained relatively subdued, with Japanese markets closed for a public holiday and US activity limited by Columbus Day. Despite thinner liquidity, growing concerns over developments in the Middle East and Eastern Europe helped sustain demand for the Dollar, bringing the 0.8345 resistance area back into focus.
Fresh hostilities in the Middle East have unsettled investors following an attack by Iran-backed Houthi forces on Saudi Arabia's King Khalid International Airport. The incident, which reportedly left one person dead and 11 injured, followed allegations of Saudi military action against Sanaa's airport in Yemen.
Meanwhile, renewed Russian strikes on Ukrainian power infrastructure have raised questions about the durability of a recently announced energy ceasefire arrangement. The developments have weakened hopes of a meaningful reduction in regional hostilities, adding another layer of uncertainty to global financial markets.
Energy prices have responded to the deteriorating geopolitical backdrop. Brent crude recovered from an early-session low of $100.66 to approximately $103.50 per barrel, reversing its initial decline as traders reassessed the possibility of further supply disruptions.
The renewed strength in crude prices presents additional challenges for energy-importing economies, including Switzerland. Higher energy costs could increase inflationary pressures while simultaneously weakening growth prospects, creating an unfavorable environment for the Swiss Franc.
For USD/CHF, the combination of geopolitical uncertainty, recovering oil prices and renewed demand for the US Dollar is providing near-term support. However, subdued trading volumes suggest that further gains may require stronger buying momentum.
The immediate outlook remains cautiously bullish, with buyers targeting the 0.8345 region. A sustained move above this level could strengthen the recovery, while renewed weakness below 0.8290 would undermine the current upward momentum.

USD/CHF Technical Analysis: Rising Trendline Supports Bullish Continuation Toward 0.8430

USD/CHF is showing renewed bullish momentum after successfully defending a rising trendline that has supported the broader recovery since September. On the four-hour chart, the pair has rebounded from the 0.8280–0.8290 region and is currently trading around 0.8329, with buyers attempting to regain control following a period of consolidation.
The latest recovery reinforces the importance of the ascending trendline, which continues to provide dynamic support beneath the market. More importantly, the recent pullback failed to establish a sustained break below this structure, suggesting that the underlying bullish trend remains intact despite intermittent selling pressure.
Attention now turns to the 0.8310–0.8320 zone, which previously acted as an important consolidation area. The pair has moved back above this region, and a successful retest could strengthen buying interest. Sustained trading above 0.8330 would expose the next significant resistance around 0.8365–0.8370, where previous rallies encountered selling pressure.
A decisive breakout above this upper resistance would represent an important bullish development, potentially clearing the way for an extension toward 0.8400, followed by the projected upside target around 0.8430–0.8440.
On the downside, immediate support is concentrated around 0.8310, while the rising trendline near 0.8280–0.8290 remains a critical technical reference. A sustained move beneath this support would weaken the bullish structure and expose the stronger demand zone around 0.8255–0.8265. A breakdown below that area would suggest a more meaningful deterioration in the recovery.
The projected price trajectory favors a brief consolidation or corrective retest around current levels before another attempt to extend higher. Provided buyers continue defending the ascending trendline, the path of least resistance remains upward, with a break above 0.8370 potentially accelerating the advance toward 0.8430.

      ENTRY PRICE: 0.8330
      STOP LOSS: 0.8270
